Reimagining Concrete
We’ve been working in the decorative concrete industry for more than a decade now. Over the years, we feel we’ve perfected our solid-cast concrete mix and continue to serve clients worldwide with bespoke and standard polished concrete pieces.
We love concrete, and we know it well. We love its strength, its character, its texture and the presence it brings to a space.
But we’ve also listened to our clients.
One of the things we hear most often is that weight can be a deciding factor when choosing concrete. As much as you may love and want to have concrete in your home, it’s not always the best option for one simple reason:
It’s heavy.
With concrete, as you go lighter, you often need to trade off some of the strength and then compensate with reinforcement. Depending on the application and a number of other factors, this may or may not lead to compromises or potential failures.
Of course, this is not always the case. There are many factors involved.
But we felt it was the right time for us to contribute to the industry and approach the problem from a different angle.
A NEW DIRECTION
We decided to develop our own concrete fibre composite material - one that could offer the same strength and character we love about solid-cast concrete, while being significantly lighter.
And yes, you heard that right.
We succeeded!
We can now manufacture concrete pieces that are lightweight, strong and, most importantly, still concrete. The main ingredients in our new formulation are cement and natural sand.
We’re reimagining concrete, and this opens up a whole new range of possibilities for how we can use the material. So, we’re starting with furniture.
Our new concrete furniture collection brings together our first pieces made using this new material - with the same concrete character we love, but with a fraction of the weight.
And this is only the beginning.
We’re adding more pieces to the collection and continuing to explore what we can create with this new formulation.
